Position: Investment Analyst Location: [City or Remote] Firm AUM: $40M Fund Type: Public Equities / Long-Short or Long-Only About Us: We are a nimble and performance-driven public equities investment firm managing $40 million in assets. Our strategy is research-intensive and fundamentally driven, with a focus on identifying asymmetric opportunities across global public markets. Role Overview: We are seeking a sharp, analytical, and self-directed Investment Analyst to support the fund’s investment process. You will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and monitoring investment opportunities with a primary focus on equities. This is a lean team environment where your insights will directly influence capital allocation decisions. Responsibilities: - Source, research, and pitch new investment ideas (long and/or short) - Build detailed financial models and perform valuation analyses (DCF, comps, SOTP, etc.) - Analyze financial statements, earnings transcripts, and industry reports - Track existing portfolio holdings and provide updates on key developments - Prepare investment memos and internal presentations - Conduct primary and secondary research, including calls with management, experts, and competitors - Assist with risk analysis, position sizing, and portfolio construction considerations Qualifications: - 1–3 years of experience in equity research, investment banking, private equity, hedge fund, or similar role - Strong accounting and financial modeling skills - Deep understanding of business models and capital allocation - Excellent writing and communication abilities - Highly independent and proactive work ethic - Strong intellectual curiosity with a passion for investing - Preferred but not required - CFA designation or progress toward it - Experience with alternative data, scripting tools (e.g., Python, SQL), or financial APIs - Exposure to global markets or thematic investing Benefits: - Competitive compensation (salary + performance-based bonus) - High-impact role with direct access to decision-makers - Opportunity to build deep research expertise in public markets - Flexible work environment, including potential for remote work
