Job Description

We're looking for a full-time Commercial Insurance Broker to join a brokerage out of Oakville, Ontario. As a Commercial Lines Insurance Broker, you will be responsible for generating new business through your networks and centers of influence. Handling client accounts, assessing risks, and recommending suitable insurance policies will be your day-to-day. This position is designed for the entrepreneurial minded individual who wishes to build his own portfolio. Location: Remote/Virtual Compensation Options: Option 1: - Salary: $60,000 CAD plus commission - Commission breakdown: 40% new business, 20% on renewal, No book ownership Option 2: - Salary not provided - Commission Breakdown: 60% on new business, 60% on renewal business, 50% ownership of book Who you are & requirements: - Min 2 years experience in commercial lines - Education: RIBO License - Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Effective negotiation and closing skills. - Demonstrated experience delivering superior customer service and attention to detail. Key Responsibilities: - Manage a renewal book of business along with conducting sales, bringing on new clients to the company - Client Needs Assessment: Meet with business clients to understand their operations, risks, and insurance requirements. - Policy Sourcing & Negotiation: Research and present suitable policies, negotiating with underwriters to secure optimal coverage and rates. - Risk Management Advice: Provide expert guidance on mitigating risks and managing potential losses. - Policy Management: Handle renewals, amendments, and processing of new and existing commercial policies. - Claims Assistance: Guide clients through the claims process, ensuring paperwork is complete and accurate. - Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with both clients and insurance providers.
